On the way back from seeing my parents near Crabtree today (and Dad put me 
to work splitting some tough Oregon Ash rounds) I stopped at Ankeny NWR 
south of Salem and saw 2 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, an adult with a juvenile 
following it, near the gravel pad along Wintel Rd. overlooking the large 
pond of Pintail/Egret Marsh.  Then I walked all the way around the marsh 
(2-3 miles) and saw 3 shorebirds.
