My first stop this afternoon was the "wetland" at the NE corner of Evergreen
& 229th Ave in Hillsboro where I had a juvenile Virginia Rail out in the
open for about 30 seconds.

At Tualatin River NWR, the Ruff continues. I didn't refind the Long-billed
Curlews.

My longest stop was at Fernhill Wetlands. The middle pond (Cattail pond)
seems to attract more and more shorebird on the western, say, forth. The
mitigation area was dead. The two hours that I spent there in the drizzle
proved to be very productive:

Red-necked Phalarope (2 in basic plumage in middle pond)
Semipalmated Sandpiper (1 juvenile in southwestern corner of middle pond)
Great Egret (17 at Taylor Marsh, 1 more at mitigation area)
BREWER'S SPARROW (1 on trail about 40yds north of Gazebo on the largest pond
- looks like the influx in the Willamette Valley continues)
Bald Eagle (1 immature)
Lesser Goldfinch (3 mixed in with Americans feeding on thistle on western
edge of largest pond)
