I just got back from a week in Arizona with Paradise Birding
(paradisebirding.com). Steve Shunk was our guide and he found virtually
everything that could be expected on this trip. We only dipped on
Buff-collared Nightjar (only Steve and I went for this bird), Montezuma
Quail evaded us, and most of the group missed the Greater Pewee. There were
a few reports of scattered Aztec Thrushes but we didn't see any. We also We
had unprecedented cool weather and lots of heavy rain so we didn't do as
well as we could. We nearly drowned (not really) in the Chiricahuas but
were rewarded with a Berylline Hummer on a nest. This is an annual trip so
if you are interested, get in touch with Paradise Birding. It's well worth
the money. We saw about 180 species. They are listed below. I've "ALL
CAPPED" the birds that might be most interesting to Oregonians.
