for Wilson add the snipe, making 5 to tie him with John Cassin (1813-1869) for the most eponyms among North American birds, at least by English name. Wilson would get the overall nod if one included the warblers in the genus Wilsonia. And then there's the Wilson Journal of Ornithology, the journal of the Wilson Ornithological Society.
Cassin was an ornithologist who worked at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, describing lots and lots of new species. He also has a journal named for him, Cassinia.
