Forwarded message from Bob Altman:
I got a note from Larry Schwitters yesterday that on the late evening
(8:30-9:00 pm) of August 11th he had 10-12 Black Swifts at Falls Creek
Falls in Wallowa County. He saw all the birds at one time or another at
the falls (not just in the sky) making contact with the falling water,
thus it is likely they are nesting there. If so, this would certainly
make it one of the largest known Black Swift colonies in Oregon or
Washington. For those of you who don’t know Larry, over the last few
years he has been on a mission to locate Black Swift nesting colonies
and is responsible for most of the currently known 15-20 sites in
Washington.
