BANDING REPORT- Neawanna Wetland Preserve
08-18-2007
Method: Up to eight 9m mist nets are placed in mixed Oregon
Crabapple/Twinberry/Spruce along the the upper Neawanna River,
Seaside, Clatsop Co. OR. Captured birds are measured, ringed
with USBBL numbered metal bands and released. Data on time of
capture and side of net captured are also recorded to gain
an understanding of movements through the area.

Notes: The weather looked iffy, but we managed 3 hours of banding
this morning with modest results. We had plenty of extra help today
from Jackson Meyer of Seaside and Malcolm Boothroyd and his parents
Wendy and Ken of the Yukon Territory.
Of note among the seen, but not captured were a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE
and singing male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
