Obol,
I'll assume Larry's 50 Egrets were Great, but not Snowy:)
I went to check Redhead Pond around 3 this afternoon. I found exactly ZERO
shorebirds! As I headed south the WHITE-FACED IBIS flew overhead, flying
towards the observation platform as I lost track of it.
There was a decent group of shorebirds at the viewing platform including
Dowitcher sp, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Red-necked Phals, Killdeer and
MANY SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS. There were maybe 30 WESTERN and 20 LEAST
SANDPIPERS scattered about. West of the viewing platform I found a nice
juvenile SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPER with a few Western and Leasts. Kit Larson
was attempting photos when I left. As I walked to Royal I could hear the
familiar chip of the BLACK PHOEBE who has been hanging out there.
The mud at the end of Royal was also dead. Just a few peeps and a
Killdeer.
