Greetings,

After reading Tim Rodenkirk's post about yesterday's flock of 15
Buff-breasted Sandpipers at the North Spit of Coos Bay (NSCB), I did a quick
tally of all the sightings this fall. At the bare minimum there have been
27 BBSA reported statewide thus far. This tally presumes no turnover in the
birds at the NSCB. Perhaps Tim can offer some insights on whether he thinks
the original six stuck around and were joined by others, or if there has
been some turnover. At Fern Ridge I had one bird and then it was several
days before one, two, and ultimately three birds were seen together. There
may have been a total of four there over the last two weeks, but I only
counted three for the purposes of this summary.
