[obol] Banner year for Buff-breasted Sandpipers

Hi Dave,

We originally had up to 7 early on then no birds were
seen for a few days (and I was looking hard) then more
birds showed up until we reached the current total of
15 yesterday. I'm thinking then that we've had up to
22 out on the north spit. This may seem like a lot of
birds, but that site typically has multiple birds for
4-6 weeks, and I suspect I am undercounting birds if
anything. We could easily lose a few overnight but
gain a few arrivals and no one would ever know. We
also have had about 17 golden-plovers out there this
year (15 Pacifics and 2 Americans).

Dave, maybe you could dig up the record flock size for
BBSA on the west coast, I'm really curious? I think
the north spit must be one of the best spots to see
this species in Oregon, Washington, and California.
