We still have a fairly steady stream of migrant birds moving
through our place on Mt. Pleasant in western Skamania County, although in
reduced numbers. Most of the Cascara berries have been stripped from our
trees and the Bitter Cherries are going fast. Flocks of WESTERN TANAGERS
and CEDAR WAXWINGS are coming to the trees along with a few BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAKS. Both CASSIN'S and WARBLING VIREOS are still showing up along
with a few ORANGE-CROWNED, BLACK-THROATED GRAY and WILSON'S WARBLERS. The
number of hummingbirds here dropped considerably during the last two days
with only about a half dozen RUFOUS and single CALLIOPE and BLACK-CHINNED
HUMMINGBIRDS. I expect that with the forecast change in weather we will
experience another fallout if it does rain.
