Despite the storm, there were quite a few birds at the feeders here at our
home above downtown Scappoose, Oregon. Highlights include:

Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura) - a new "yard bird"

Pine Siskin (Carduelis pinus) - first of the season

Townsend's Warbler (Dendroica townsendi) - first of the season

Golden-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia atricapilla) - first of the season

Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis) - both the Oregon (J. h. oreganus) and
Slate-colored (J. h. hyemalis) subspecies

A goldfinch, possibly a Lesser, was also seen but not well. A couple of poor
quality photos can be found on my blog:
http://www.bornagainbirdwatcher.com/2007/12/storm-birds-in-yard.html. Any
thoughts on its identity are appreciated.

Peace and good bird watching,
