[obol] Eagle or what?

hi ... I'm a beginner on birds and first off have never seen a 
Ferruginous Hawk ... actually, didn't even know such a Hawk existed 
(grin) ... I looked at the pix and immediately dismissed Eagle 
because of the white front ... so my first thought was the hawk I 
know best - Red-tailed ... downloaded the image and played with it in 
PhotoShop trying to see if there was a banded front hidden in all 
that white ... no luck ... then you folks said the Ferruninous Hawk 
-- so I looked that up in my collection of aquired-this-year bird 
books ... and in the National Wildlife Federations Field Guide to 
Birds of North America --- by gosh but the pix (p.199) of the 
Ferruninous Hawk is almost identical to this gentleman's image !!!! 
... pose and all !!!!! ... neat looking bird ...

as a beginner I enjoy trying to figure out the bird ID's presented on 
this (and Tweeters) lists ... mostly I'm never right (grin) ... but 
it's a nice way to learn ...
