[obol] Union County Harris's sparrow

A first winter HARRIS'S SPARROW was first seen at the feeders at the
Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area Headquarters on Thursday, 11/29, and continues
to feed there today (Tuesday, 12/4).  The bird is hanging out with a
group of white-crowns and juncos and seems to be cleaning up under the
thistle feeder.

 

I am told the species is considered annual in Union County with one or
two reported each year.  It is nice to have the chance to spend some
quality time with it as it has been here all day every day since
Thursday.
