LeavesIt was a dark and stormy day, the wind was blowing a gale, rain
pelting hard against my skin.
Where was I ? on Harris beach watching the storm and birding!
There was a flock of wet Pelicans on the beach along with the gulls some of
whom were tacking into the wind and having a great time dodging the huge
combers smashing into the offshore rocks.
The wind was so strong, I had to brace myself against a sign to take
pictures of the storm, and those birds smart enough to hunker down.
Not the gulls, they were out enjoying the storm, tacking into the wind,
sailing at high speed downwind before tacking back against the wind, flying
into the wind whipped spume and skimming the breaking storm waves.
They seemed to really be enjoying themselves.
The Pelicans must have thought the gulls nuts, they just kept hunkered down.
I wish I were a GULL!
