[obol] That grosbeak photo---[Also Lincoln Co. BH Grosbeak)

Hi,

In addition to the BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK sighting and photo in Lane Co.,
there were also recent, unseasonal reports in Lincoln County. We didn't
have any Black-headed Grosbeak records in Lincoln County between late
Sept. and late April for records through 1992--records (or the lack
thereof) for more recent winters is hard to extract.

On Nov. 3, Jill Grover & Bori Olla had a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK or
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK at their Sandpiper Village feeder north of
Waldport--it had a grosbeak bill but was not an Evening Grosbeak. Their
initial impression was that it was a Black-headed Grosbeak.

On Nov. 21, Dawn Grafe had a raggedy-looking female Black-headed Grosbeak
at her Toledo feeder that lingered to Dec. 1--it looked ill, which could
explain its lingering.

The Lane Co. together with the Lincoln Co. reports suggest that several
(not just one ill bird) are unseasonally present. Are there others
elsewhere?

Cheers,

Range Bayer, Newport

I've attached a pic., although it's not a very good one. This is cropped
and I have a second one comparable to it.
