[obol] Basket Slough---SWAN

Hello OBOL,

Friday afternoon-- Basket Slough in the pond on the south side of Colville Rd. at the narrows, two of us counted about 100 Swan.   I believe they are Trumpeter Swan.  Confirmation or correction appreciated.  They were in small groupings scattered all the way around to the dike.  Otherwise, good selection of ducks, Northern Pintail, American Wigeons, Northern Shovelers, Mallards and Coots.  Bald Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, American Kestrels and Northern Harriers were numerous.  A Northern Shrike was hanging onto reeds on the north side of Colville Rd. as we approached the narrows driving west.
