The Arcata, Humboldt Co., California CBC was done in great weather today 12/15. Highlights were Cattle Egret, Snow Goose, Harlequin Duck, Long-tailed Duck, Sooty Shearwater, Short-tailed Shearwater, Manx Shearwater, Prairie Falcon, Lesser Yellowlegs, Whimbrel, Red Knot, 4 Rock Sandpipers, Pomarine Jaeger, Black-legged Kittiwake, Ancient Murrelet, 35 Short-eared Owls (flushed roost), Rufous Hummingbird (ad. male), Say's Phoebe, Tropical Kingbird, Cassin's Vireo, Mountain Chickadee, Am. Dipper, N. Mockingbird, Nashville Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Palm Warbler, Black-and-White Warbler, Com. Yellowthroat, N. Waterthrush, 4 Swamp Sparrows, Am. Tree Sparrow, Lapland Longspur, and Snow Bunting. The count got about 186 species. It missed Bewick's Wren.
