A small but very diverse mixed flock just visited my west-central Eugene
backyard, including, for me, an unusual BEWICK'S WREN, which for awhile
foraged right alongside a SPOTTED TOWHEE. Also a few GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROWS, JUNCOS, and HOUSE FINCHES, including an ORANGE/YELLOW VARIANT
MALE. The Finches have been busy clearing off the remaining blackberries on
the blackberries entwined in my laurel hedge.
