I was in Forrest Grove today helping a friend, so on my way home I
stopped by Fernhill Wetlands (in Forrest Grove S of Hwy 47) to see what
might be there.

Water was extremely high in all three ponds and water is still flowing
into Cattail(less) Marsh from the control canal that parallels the
road.

Not much was on the three main ponds between about 2:30 & 3p when I was
there.

On Fernhill Lake, I did see:

Three MEW GULLS
A Pair of COMMON GOLDENEYE
A Pair of Lesser Scaup

On the Fields W of the road:
There were thousands of ducks and geese in the sheet water on the
fields. Mainly Pintails, Cacklers and Canadas with a smattering of
other gulls and ducks. An adult Bald Eagle made a half hearted sortie
and got 2,500-3,000 birds up and scattering, but there was no catch;
just a lazy banking circle at 50 feet or so to display the Power of the
Bald Eagle.

I did not walk out to the back ponds.
