Yesterday 12/24 my son Garth and I drove the Bend-Alfalfa Raptor Survey Route under Cloudy to P. cloudy skies, heavy snow showers, 0 -30 mph winds and temps between 27 and 33 degrees F.

The raptor numbers are down this year, especially Red-tailed Hawks. The highlight of the trip was watching 3 Dark Morph Rough-Legged Hawks put on a flight show for several minutes on the western half of Horsell Rd. in Alfalfa. They were present in the same location last month.

We spotted a Eurasian Collared Dove just east of the Senior Center on Reed Mkt. in Bend.

18 Red-tailed Hawks
12 American Kestrels
 4 No. Harriers
 1 Sub adult Bald eagle
 1 Golden Eagle
 7 Rough-legged Hawks
 2 Ferruginous Hawks
 2 Prairie Falcons
