[obol] Applegate/Williams raptor survey (JoCo)

The 1st Applegate-Williams area raptor survey was completed today (12-30-07); just made it this month.  Route is along the roads surrounding the towns of Murphy and Williams, Josephine Co.

Total of 37.0 miles; 3.75 hours; weather:  Partly cloudy.  Found were:

Red-tailed Hawk - 14
American Kestrel - 6
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1 (possibly 2nd bird after count when returning)
White-tailed Kite - 3
Barn Owl - 2 (pair in BLM shed near start of Williams Highway; seen from road)
Golden Eagle - 1 (in flight near the Applegate River near Murphy)

Has been a lack (or at least I'm not detecting them) Peregrines so far.
