We saw our first-of-the-year Oregon TURKEY VULTURE this morning (1 Feb. 07) at E.E. Wilson Wildlife Management Area, working its way
north, and against the wind. There were literally thousands of American Robins working over the abundant apples remaining on the
trees. Also feeding on the apples were Song Sparrows, Golden-Crowned Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, and Wrentits. We didn't see any
unusual sparrows, though we looked for Lincoln's, Swamp, and Harris'. Song and Fox Sparrows, Wrentits, House Finches, Robins and
Juncos all did some singing in the bright sunshine, even as most all still water was frozen.
We also had two TRUMPETER SWAN fly over, bugling away. And very many Canada Geese in flight moving between fields.
