[obol] RFI: Belize birding and book

Hey all,

My wife and I are going to Belize over Spring Break and hope to squeeze
in some birding.  Here are our questions:

1)  Any suggestions on a good Belize birding book?  Or should we just
bring our Sibley's NA Guide and the Howell & Webb book we have from our
visit to Guatemala?

2)  We are arriving about 30 hours before my parents, nephew, brother
and his girlfriend arrive.  This is our best chance to do some good
birding.  We were thinking of heading up to Crooked Tree for the night:
a)  is this the best place to go during this time?  b)  if so,
suggestions on places to stay and guides to take us out on the water? 
We're leaning towards staying at the Paradise Inn, but would like other
suggestions before making a decision.  

3)  The rest of the week we'll be on Amergris Caye.  Anyone have any
experience with the birding on this Caye?
