Swan Lake?

Once upon a time, son George and cousin Etta were in a little row boat 
on Devil's Lake in Lincoln City. They were enjoying themselves, and as 
they rowed along, they saw a pair of swans ... and swished water at them 
with their paddles. They watched the female fly away down the lake, but 
meanwhile the male did a "180" behind them and came in alongside with 
wings out and thoroughly dowsed them!!

Reminds me of a friend who, for his BS thesis, spent a couple of months 
on an island in the San Juans studying gulls. During his orals, he 
mentioned his "big hat" that he wore while on the island. One of the 
professors known for his self-importance asked, "Now Fred, why is it you 
wear that big ugly hat, and what happens if you don't wear it?" Fred 
said, "They poop all over you!" And there ended the orals.
