Regarding Darrel's statement:

"With all due respect to Cindy's commendable sensitivity to the death of a 
living creature, given the above considerations, I hardly think such an event 
warrants any further legal or cultural action."

Even though the final trigger for my post to OBOL and my motivation to do
something about the problem was my very close and personal encounter with the
death of a gull, I want to make it clear it is not at all the whole impetus.

This road is not thought of as your typical road by pedestrians....it's
basically treated as a path by the jetty.
