A beautiful morning at Smith and Bybee Lakes. Though it had seemed
very quiet there on previous visits this year, I had my best day
there in awhile. It was helped by the nice weather and being the
only person there for most of my stay.

Highlight was seeing a Great Horned Owl back on a nest at the far
side of Bybee Lake. It's on the same nest as last year. It's pretty
far away and so it requires a scope, and perhaps a little
imagination. On Bybee Lake were 2 female Common Goldeneye and 2 male
Canvasback.
