gorgeous day!

7 red-tails
7 kestrels

but on the plus side - a beautiful red-headed duck in full spring 
plumage on cow creek rd. and a gorgeous ring-necked male in full spring 
plumage at canyonville park.

also saw two northern shrikes, both awesome and posing perfectly in the 
tree tops along cow creek rd.

lots of amer. widgeons all over and 8-10 eurasian widgeons on cow creek 
rd.  none at the park that i saw (unusual not to see one or two).

all in all, a lovely day for one-armed birding. 

maybe i'll try winston tomorrow <vbg>.  i want to see that pinyon jay!
