i had a tree full of varied thrushes yesterday in the snow. their
bright plumage against the white of the snow was a sight to see. they
also visited the bird feeder along with the juncos and towhees.

one big gorgeous male was here this am when i got up. they seem to come
and go up and down the mtn. here. usually 1-2 around all winter but
when it got so cold in jan., they moved down lower. now they seem to be
back in force.

one of my all-time favorite birds.
