Hello All,
This last Wednesday (21 Feb.) seven of us from Walla Walla headed for the
Oregon Coast with plans to bird from Newport, Lincoln Co. south to New
River, Coos Co.. Birds of note were.........
South Jetty Yaquina River, Lincoln Co. 21Feb.
Glaucous Gull.....2 sub-adult birds
Thayer's Gull........1 ad. bird
Herring Gull.........1 ad. bird
South Jetty Yaquina River 22 Feb.
Glaucous Gull.......1 sub-adult
Burrowing Owl......1 bird-photographed
Rock Sandpiper......5 birds
Palm Warblers........2 birds-just west of the Hatfield Marine Labs-Photoed
Black-crowned Night-Heron.....1 sub-adult in eclipse plumage near outlet of
Newport Aquarium.
Brant..........................1 black form
Winchester Bay, Douglas Co.-23 Feb.
White-throated Sparrow.....1 tan stripe bird near marina
Brant.....................................1 black form at the south jetty
pond
Bandon, Coos Co. 24 Feb. with Tim Rodenkirk
Ruddy Turnstone........1 ad.

Pine Siskin....................4 birds
On the way back to Walla Walla along I-84 at MP 94 we saw the Rocky Mountain
Goat. This billy was up in the basalt rims feeding. This is the first time I
have ever seen a wild goat in Oregon.
