[obol] green-tailed towhee

On a recent visit to Bend, I was surprised to see a green-tailed towhee on the banks of the Deschutes river.  Have they been staying the winter?  I also saw a white-throated sparrow...perhaps not as unusual but I still didn't expect it so far east.  Any comments from folks of the area? All in all a lovely walk along the river...a lone american dipper greeted us at the outset, and a perched cooper's hawk saw us out.
