its head...I definitely wouldn't call it a short bill. The base of the bill
does look bubblegum-pink and although I have seen a sharper division in others,
I wouldn't call this division "diffuse." From this and other traits already
mentioned, I'd agree this is probably a Glaucous/Glaucous hybrid Gull.
More interesting description from Olsen and Larsson...
They say the bill in Glaucous Gulls is >50% the head length, <50% in Iceland
Gulls.
The size in Glaucous varies greatly (I've read this online too...it varies more
than in other gulls). The largest males can be the size of Great Black-backed
Gulls whereas females can be smaller than male Herring Gulls.
They make a big point of the eyes being being bigger (proportionately) in
Iceland Gulls than in Glaucous Gulls (as Phil pointed out).
