Johnny enjoyed visiting with the birding family from Salem who came last
night. I was unable to join them because of chores and a phone call.
Johnny tells me that the beaver made his first of several appearances at
8:30 p.m. The barn owls started their show at 9:30 p.m. Johnny said 3 of
the young owls played leapfrog on the barn ridge (well, sort of).
One baby owl is still in the loft nest as of today. The others are
likely in nearby trees and will appear again tonight, but probably not
for very much longer. So if anyone still wants to catch the beaver/barn
owl show, give us a call. It's best to arrive by 8 or 8:15 so you can be
settled by the pond while it's still light enough to enjoy the
beaver(s). Bring warm jackets. As soon as the sun goes down, it gets
nippy here in the Coast range. 503-879-5354
