[obol] Babies, Babies, EVERYwhere!

Last weekend at Ridgefield, there were baby deer, barn swallows, pied-billed grebes, sundry ducks and soon-to-be baby cedar waxwings, orioles, and peewees, as nesting is still in full swing. Yesterday, the barn and cliff swallow nests at the Baskett Slough overlook were bulging with babies about to launch – one barn swallow nest had FIVE kidlets hanging right on the edge, just raring to go. And we saw tiny spotted fawns who didn't walk or run, but literally “sprang” as they followed their mom - so cute! It’s such fun to see how ALIVE everything is out there in the REAL WORLD, away from the workaday environment. Thank goodness I work only five days a week!
