Just a heads-up for Oregon coastal birders, a Black Skimmer was reported today the 13th by Lucas Brug sitting on rocks at the V Street pier in Crescent City harbor. Also the Caracara is still around Fort Dick, seen usually near the intersection of Lower Lake Drive and Mosely Road, reported by Alan Barron. It hangs out with vultures at livestock carcasses. A pair of Chestnut-sided Warblers (once- ordinarily only the male is located) has been at Klamath Glen, Del Norte Co., and two Indigo Buntings and a singing Red-eyed Vireo have been along the Mad River just south of Blue Lake a bit farther south in Humboldt.

For those interested, the Northwestern California Bird Alert # is (707) 822-5666. Hit 2 at the first prompt to get into the new messages and then 6 for each additional message.
