Thanks for the note Karen. I find it a cause for celebration each time I
see a new yard bird too! The SCARLET TANAGER you mention is a very very
rare bird in Oregon. There have been only a handful (fewer than five)
substantiated records for the state. As I recall, most of the previous
records come from Harney County as well. SUMMER TANAGER is also a rare
visitor to Oregon, but there are more than twice the number of records
for that species than for SCARLET TANAGER. The Oregon Birds Records
Committee solicits reports (descriptions, photos, videos, and/or other
documentation) of these species and would be very interested in one from
you for your rare bird. You can send a report to our secretary Harry

Again Thanks for sharing your yard birds. I am sure that many in our
birding community are often envious of whatever chanced you to live in
SE Oregon and to have such wonderful birding opportunities.
