BLACK SWIFTS (6-8) soaring over, around s.e. flank of Portland's Mount Tabor around 8:15 a.m. today (Tuesday, 7/31/07). Continued for next half hour; two birds reappeared briefly over w. side of summit about 2 hrs. later. (Group of ca. 6 seen over Tabor one week earlier.)  Also, OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER sitting bolt upright in Douglas-fir top; LESSER GOLDFINCH (f.) collecting spider webbing, "cotton" for nest in nearby fir.
