[obol] Pacific-slope vocalizations

This afternoon for the first time I heard a Warbling Vireo in the woods
alongside our yard. A little later I was still thinking of WAVI when I
walked down to the mailbox and heard a harsh call that would not have been
out of place coming from some Vireo species. It sounded a bit like a small
bird giving the raspberry (or Bronx cheer if you like). It was a
Pacific-slope Flycatcher ejecting an interloper from his territory. The
intruder went rocketing across the road while the owner continued to rasp
from a perch on my side, then resumed singing.
