Hello,
This morning, Eagle Perch pond had 2 BLACK-NECKED STILTS. One non-breeding
plumage BONAPARTE'S GULL was on Cattail Marsh but flew off. .
RED CROSSBILLS were numerous - (30? 50?) in Cottonwood/ Poplar type trees at
NW corner by Dabbler's Marsh. Some BAND-TAILED PIGEONS flew in there also -
very birdy in those trees with House Finches, Black-capped Chickadees, Cedar
Waxwings, Bushtits, 1 Western Wood Pewee, & a Northern Flicker which we
heard tapping from inside a hollow tree a bit to the east - it poked its
head out of a nesthole.
We were at that corner about 1/2 hour - the Crossbills were there when we
got there, & still there when we left - they were eating some gall-like
lumps at the base of the leaves.
Will post full list on Birdnotes later. http://birdnotes.net
