On Saturday June 2nd, Tim Janzen, John Sullivan, Noah Strycker and I did a
Big Day going from Yachats to Summer Lake. We easily met our primary goal
of setting a new June Big Day record for the entirety of North America,
breaking the previous record of 202 species (set in Manitoba). Somewhat
unexpectedly we also broke the all-time record for Oregon, which was 216
species (set by Janzen, Craig Roberts, David Mandell and Tom Love in May
2002). Tim Janzen will be posting a complete trip report tonight or early
tomorrow with our ending total and highlights of the day.

For the benefit of Lane listers I thought I would pass along that we had at
least one (I think two) Forster's Terns in the ponds south of the
observation platform at the end of Royal Ave.
