[obol] Canby Purple Martins

Canby, Clackamas County, Molalla Forest Road.

Today a male and female PURPLE MARTIN were resting quietly on top of the flat tops of the first two pilings to the right of the abandoned concrete boat lift on the Willamette R.  The female had the pale white collar and lighter look of the Western Purple Martin as expected. (Progne subis arboricola for subspecies lovers)
I also heard and saw another pair of martins swirling together over the north end of the golf course a couple of hundred yards from the river.
