Hola OBOL,

Went to check the "Black crowned Night Heron nest" today after not hearing
back from the Monitor person. It turns out this is actually a Green Heron,
not surprisingly. Never did see them but the owner recognized the call on my
iPod (Birds of Mexico) and the good photos in BIRDS OF THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY
while nixing the illus of the BC Night Heron in Kaufmann's book. End of
story. I waited around but he said they usually come in from fishing
expeditions at around 9:30 AM.

Abbey Hill had quite a contingent of very vocal Chipping Sparrows, a Lazuli
Bunting, Bullock's Oriole, lots of Western Wood PeeWees, and a couple
Swainson't Thrush mostly up by the new parking lots on the right.
