[obol] Scrub Jays on the coast

Hi,

    Our first Lincoln County record was in 1970.  Since then, they are
uncommon, but singletons are regular every year.  They seem to
becoming more common in May--last year they were common enough at some
sites that some of us wondered if they might have nested.  This May we
had 3 records in Lincoln County.

Subject: Scrub Jays on the coast

Scrub Jays on the coast for some reason are quite rare.  We have seen
them at our yard in Bandon once.  I have heard them in Coos Bay once or
twice.  If you travel inland just a few miles, they begin to appear.
Not clear why they are so rare on the coast, especially in Coos Bay
which should have enough for them to survive.
