This evening while walking on Baskett Butte (Richard Guadagno Memorial Trail) at BSNWR with my wife, I heard a singing INDIGO BUNTING. The bird initially responded to spishing, popping up from the high grasses near young white oaks and providing diagnostic looks. We happened to be experimenting with a new digital camcorder when we first heard the bird. My wife was able to capture video of the bird, which is available upon request. As it was just past 2100 hrs, the light was poor and the image is quite blurry. Wish we knew how to use the "night" feature on the camera at the time.

I first noticed the bird from the lookout on top of the butte. Later, we located it along the ridge where the trail forks toward the lookout.
