I did the Nicolai Mt BBS route this morning which begins at Fish Hawk
Ridge Road and goes north along the Nicolai Mt Mainline to Hwy 30
then onto Aldrich Pt Rd and Brownsmead. The weather began a bit
drizzley, but cleared up within the first hour.
I counted a total of 62 species which is about average, 603 indi-
viduals; added PINE SISKIN and PIED-BILLED GREBE to the count list.
Most noteworthy was the surprising lack of BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLER (only 3) all other usual warbler species were at or above
normal.
Three HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHERS this year (in fact Hammond's was the first
bird of the bird of the day).
Noteable misses included Northern Flicker and Double-crested
Cormorant...
