FINALLY! I have edited my April shoot and added it to my web site at
http://www.kevinsmithnaturephotos.com
click on 'New sightings' to see
82 bird species 14 Life Birds!
11 Mammal species
2 Lizards
Kei and I traveled Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona stopping
at many State Parks, National Wildlife Refuges, National Monuments and
Parks, local birding areas in places like Santa Barbara, Yuma, Gordon's
Well, Holtville, Green Valley, Madera Canyon and Patagonia and this was
ONLY April! If it wasn't for us getting sick for a few days (we thought
it was allergies at first) we might have covered many of those areas
more completely (especially Madera Canyon). High-lites were a mother
Killdeer doing her 'broken wing' routine and photographing the nestlings
(two unhatched eggs, one fully hatched and one HATCHING!)(Welcome to the
World!), photographing an Elf-Owl nest comings and goings, a dicee
confrontation between a pair of Roadrunners and a young Cooper's Hawk
(never knew they could turn their head fully up-side-down!) and watching
the Roadrunner taking away young House Finches. Many good hours of
fun. The photos will be up on the "NEW SIGHTING'S" page for about two
weeks before being transfered to the appropriate pages. Then I will
post May's shoot on 'New Sighting's' (another wonderful month to finish
out the trip).
Enjoy.
