and head toward Eugene. Then take the Delta Hwy Northbound (labeled as
"Valley River Center"). Continue North on Delta Hwy (don't take the VRC
exit) until you cross over Beltline, still going North on Delta.
Continue North on Delta (now a 2-lane road) for about a mile and turn right
(East) on Ayers Road.
Continue East on Ayers Rd until Gilham Rd (stop sign) and turn left (North).
On the right-hand side of Gilham (within about 100feet of Ayers) there is a
white picket fence. Turn right onto the gravel lane immediately in front of
the white picket fence. Drive down the gravel lane about 100 feet to a
pull-out on the left (room for about 6 cars) and park there.
The shed with blackberries where the bird has been hanging out is directly
across the lane from the parking area. You can see the birdseed at the North
end of the blackberry bramble.
The sparrow has also been seen on the green-roofed plastic feeder at the
yellowish house to the East (look past the piles of covered firewood).
I think it's quite likely the bird is just hanging around the neighborhood,
but seen intermittently. I was there Fri afternoon and missed. Heard through
the grapevine that nobody else saw it Friday either (but such info is +/- of
course). Bring a hot drink - it was 35 degrees this morning!
