there are recent records from Buldir Island (late Aug 2001), Shemya
Island (Sep 2001 [4 birds], Aug 2002,
Sep 2005 [4 birds]); one additional record from eastern Aleutians at Unalas=
ka Island (Dec 2003). From fall 2006 North
American Birds report: Attu Island (Sep 2006), and Shemya Island
(Sep 2006 [4 birds]). Prior to this only one Aleutian record (fall 1983 at
Attu Island), so it does appear that recent more frequent occurrence in fal=
l in
the western Aleutians might be related to one showing up in Oregon. Falcat=
ed
Duck on the other hand=85that=92s a different story.
