wintering location for Cinnamon Teal. However, 50+ is an impressive total.
Has anyone ever had a higher one-day count of Cinnamon Teal in Oregon during
the winter (i.e., December to February)?

Is Svensen covered on a Christmas Bird Count, or does it fall in the gap
between the Columbia Estuary and Wahkiakum counts?

Cinnamon Teal are a rare but regular wintering species as far north as the
Vancouver, BC area. They are seen in about half the years on the Ladner
Christmas Bird Count, with a maximum count (if I recall correctly) of 9
birds. This year, one male has been seen several times near the Westham
Island bridge (on the access road to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary).

The correct answer: behind the grass just above the pintail.

The other 11+ hardly need finding, do they?

The total Cinnanon Teal count for Thursday at Svensen Island was 50+.
For reasons we haven't figured out yet, Cinnamon Teal are over wintering
at this site in numbers that don't match our expectations, elsewhere.
