to the ocean. There is an open area to the left (north) that you can walk up to the mouth of Floras Creek. Just south of the creek mouth, there are some higher foredunes on the left (west) that block the beach. The bird was on top of these. There were other shorebirds around (plovers, Dunlin & Leasties), but the Mtn Plover was hanging out by itself. Russ Namitz Coos Bay
