A flock of about 60 Sandhill Cranes appeared out of the SSW at 1140.
They lingered circling & climbing approximately above the Nike world HQ &
then proceeded N along a route above Murray Blvd ~ Bethany Blvd presumably
to Sauvie Island. At 1155 another group of 19 appeared out of the S at much
lower altitude passing almost directly overhead seemingly to follow Cedar
Hills Blvd. N to the Tuality Hills & presumably on to Sauvie Island. The
sky was cloudless brilliant blue with mild breezes which carried their
voices to me long before I could see them! What a wonderful sight!!

I don't have access to OBOL from here at work or I'd have cc'd. Would
you mind fwd'g please?

". . . a birdless world, the air permanently fallow, is unthinkable. To be
without birds would be to suffer a kind of color-blindness, a glaucoma
gauzing over one of the planet's special brightnesses... there exist few
everyday necessities in my life, but birds are among them." Ivan Doig,
